Safe Harbor Life Center is available only to those serious
about making meaningful, positive changes to their life and lifestyle.

ABOUT THE PROGRAM

The problem addressed by this program may be summarized in one word...Addiction.
Those who struggle with alcohol or drug addiction need not only the right information on recovery, but also a safe place to process and apply this information. For this reason, Safe harbor Life Center provides the six month Journey to Freedom Program for men who are trying to make the transition from addictive lifestyle to a life of freedom in all respects.

At Safe Harbor Life Center we provide the Journey to Freedom Program in a safe environment of learning and recovery. The curriculum is based on a combination of the 12 Steps of Alcoholics Anonymous, the Alpha Series, and Relational Empowerment Series. Weekly classes are reinforced with weekly processing groups, allowing for the in-depth discussions of the topics and principles taught in the class. Individual recovery support counseling in also provided.

During the first Thirty days of the Journey, historic coping strategies that underlie the addict's personal dysfunction are examined. This helps the client to move from simply needing recovery to actually wanting recovery. By making a commitment to financial responsibility, program participation, and a positive personal attitude a plan is developed to assist the resident in becoming financially and relationally independent by the end of his program.

As the resident works through the second phase of the Journey, a healthy self-image is developed and reinforced by constantly reviewing the biblical truth of our new identity in Christ. Assuming personal responsibility for out fleshly faults and failures brings the forgiveness we desperately need for personal freedom.

The Third and final phase of the Journey to Freedom  is devoted to learning to relate to and love others in a healthy manner. The resident learns the characteristics of divine love, and practices it on a daily basis. A commitment is made to share the message of hope and recovery with others, not as a religious duty, but as a healthy, functional lifestyle.
