JOURNEY TO FREEDOM PROGRAM
Program Outline and Synopsis
The following outline and guide for you to review so that you will understand that the program you will enter is founded on proven knowledge and wisdom for changing lives, understanding that it is up to you to take advantage of the opportunity offered to you.
Orientation Goals: Objective evaluation of historical coping strategies which underlie the personal dysfunction and relational difficulties which led up to the addiction. Recognition of the need for personal recovery through psycho-educational classes, support groups, as well as individual support counseling. The development of a plan to become financially independent and responsible by the end of the program.
Orientation Strategies Provide a physically and personally safe place for recovery. Provide the disciplines necessary for recovery. Provide the resources necessary for recovery.
Orientation Curriculum Step 1: breaking denial and projection. Step 2: eliminating toxic faith. Step 3: creating hope of recovery.
Regeneration Goals The first goal of the regeneration phase is to restructure dysfunctional belief systems so that the truth of our new identity may be experienced on a daily basis. It is during this phase that family of origin issues and past failures are specifically addressed by taking personal responsibility for past failures to gain personal freedom in the future.
Regeneration Strategies Emphasize the Biblical concept of a new identity on which new coping strategies are built. Utilize classes, groups and counseling sessions to counter the poor self-esteem that plagues all addicts with a healthy self-image that is based in reality.

Relational Empowerment Goals Personal recovery is not really complete until it is demonstrated in our relationships to others. Recognition of the true meaning and characteristics of divine love. Acceptance of the personal responsibility to love with a divine love by actually practicing it daily.
Relational Empowerment Strategies Evaluating past and current relationships using the example of the example of Christ. Recognition of potential to break out of self-centeredness by loving others. Develop the relations skills of confrontation, comforting, and supporting others.
Relational Empowerment Curriculum AA Big Book of Steps 8-12 -Identify and mend broken relationships -Sustain personal relationship with God.
Empowering for living -Personal skills -Communication skills -Relational skills
